Finding Stronger Safes

After I started investing in gold instead of stocks and bonds, I realized that my cheap house safe was just not going to do the trick. I wanted to protect the hundreds of thousands of dollars that I had in gold, so I started shopping around for stronger, more durable safes. I was able to find a company that offered incredible locks and safes for reasonable prices, so I reached out to them for help. They were amazing to work with, and they even came out to my house to help me to fit the area for size. This blog is all about shopping for a better safe.

2 Recent Updates Have Made Security Systems Safer

Blog

Security systems are becoming much more popular in the United States and Canada. This is for a good reason. More families are traveling and leaving their homes for extended periods of time. People want to know that their biggest investment, their home, is being protected and watched over. A home security system is able to provide that protection, and thus give the homeowner piece of mind. Here are some recent updates that most home security companies are adopting.

1. Cellular Monitoring

The old style of monitoring used to go through a home phone line. These systems were pretty decent at first, and they served their purpose for a time. The problem is that unfortunately they became a liability because if a phone line was cut, the alarm system would not be able to call the authorities. This obviously is a liability, not only for the company, but for the protection of the home and family.

In order to stop this from happening, companies have adopted a cellular monitoring system. This cellular chip goes into the main panel of the security system and acts as a mini cell phone in the security system. There is no way that a burglar would be able to block this signal, and therefore the system is much more reliable.

2. Home Automation

The security systems now offer home automation. This means that with any type of smartphone an individual would be able to have complete access to their system. Note, that it is important that a good internet connection is needed in order to take advantage of home automation. With home automation an individual is able to arm and disarm their system. There is also some extremely neat equipment that can be connected to a home automation system.

  • Security Cameras—The security cameras that are offered for home automation allow the individual or family to view live video footage. Something important to note is that the video recording is stored on a secure online database that only you have access to. This will not allow a burglar to take the video footage from the house.
  • Smart Locks—These go in place of dead-bolts and allow the family to dead-bolt the home from anywhere. These usually go on all exterior entrances and make it so the home can not only be armed and disarmed, but locked and unlocked from anywhere.

Most companies such as Island Lock & Safe Inc are adopting these very interesting and useful aspects of home security. They add peace of mind to a normal system, and truly give that added security to any system.
