Finding Stronger Safes

After I started investing in gold instead of stocks and bonds, I realized that my cheap house safe was just not going to do the trick. I wanted to protect the hundreds of thousands of dollars that I had in gold, so I started shopping around for stronger, more durable safes. I was able to find a company that offered incredible locks and safes for reasonable prices, so I reached out to them for help. They were amazing to work with, and they even came out to my house to help me to fit the area for size. This blog is all about shopping for a better safe.

Ditch The Keys And Try These Other Home Entry Methods

Blog

You may have thought that a set of keys was a permanent and slightly inconvenient part of being a homeowner. Actually, there are already several viable ways to get rid of your keys altogether, using modern technology and locksmith services. Here are some things to consider.

Keypads Work Great

Locksmiths might first recommend that you consider keypads for your house. The keypad is programmed to use a simple code of your choosing. Entry times will be much quicker, since you don't have to locate a key within your bag. You are also free to change the entry code as often or as little as you'd like. Whenever you feel like your security has been compromised, or you have had to give the key codes to someone who you no longer want in the house, you can just change the codes remotely and not worry about it any longer.

Biometric Locks Add Extra Security

You could go one step further by having biometric locks installed in your home. These can't be cracked just by learning the code to enter the house. They only allow you (and other programmed users) to enter. They might use a fingerprint to identify you, or an eye scan. Since the entry is unique to you, no one can steal your identity and enter the house. Of course, the cost of these machines can quickly escalate, depending on how sophisticated you want the technology to get. But they are certainly a great option for ease of use and the highest security available. Both biometric locks and keypads can also let security systems know when there have been failed attempts to enter the house, which adds to their value.

A Key Card Is A Good Compromise

If you aren't quite ready to install biometric locks in your home, you could still use something that's like a key but infinitely more convenient. Think about having a locking system that uses key cards instead of actual keys. Rather than having to find the key in your bag and fiddle with the locks in the dark, you could have a key car that works whenever it's in proximity to the door. Some keys work without even touching the locks, so they could be in your pocket. Others just need to be touched to the door's locking mechanism. Either way, these options (and the ones mentioned above) are all things to consider when you're fed up with having many keys to contend with.
